As the LGBTQ communities around the world begin to gather and celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, the New York City chapter of Gays Against Guns ("GAG") joined huge crowds at the anniversary's inaugural rally where it all began: the Stonewall Inn.

“This is not the time to sit at home and worry, it is the time for action.”

-GAG Organizer Cathy Marino-Thomas

As quoted in the New York Times

Bringing the message that no one recognizes nor fights better against forces of death and destruction like LGBTQ people do, GAG processed to the rally with dozens of their iconic "Human Beings". These white-clad, veiled and silent beings each carry a placard representing a specific person murdered by gun violence in America, and the person that Human Being represents.

The New York Times took notice and journalist Michael Gold quoted GAG organizer Cathy Marino-Thomas:

“This is not the time to sit at home and worry, it is the time for action.”
