GAG High on List of HuffPo's Intersectional Feminism Groups


Gays Against Guns was listed second on a list of the "50 Groups To Learn About If You’re Committed To Intersectional Feminism" by Huffington Post.

The article, published on January 27, 2017, and authored by HuffPo's Women's Editor Alanna Vagianos, listed Black Lives Matter, Gays Against Guns, and NoDAPL as three of the top organizations that have a committment to "bring support and solidarity to the feminist cause".

GAG is deeply honored to be listed among these 49 other groups and is greatful to Huffington Post for providing this resource to other would be activists.

The article states:

"An estimated 2.6 million people joined the Women’s March around the world. And while the majority of protestors were women marching for women’s equality, many activists from different causes showed up to bring support and solidarity to the feminist cause.

In order to keep the momentum going, it’s integral that those who showed up to the Women’s March ...get involved in other social justice issues. Issues like violence against women, reproductive rights, pay equality and body image are all at the center of the feminist movement ...

But, there are so many other social justice issues that make up a large and fundamental part of the feminist movement...

So, in the spirit of activism here are 50 other organizations to get involved in, educate yourself on and show up for the next time there’s a protest. And while this is by no means an exhaustive list, it’s a good starting point..."
