The link is live! Sign up HERE to join Gays Against Guns at the Women's March in Washington, DC on Saturday, January 21st.
If you would like to join us on a GAG bus:
Plan to arrive at the LGBT Center (208 W. 13th St.) at 4:30am to sign-in.
We will leave promptly at 5am.
We expect to leave DC at 6pm to arrive back in NYC at approximately 10pm.
There are several ways to join GAG at the Women’s March. See the descriptions below and mark your selection when you register at the link above.
Human Beings: Some of us at the March will be memorializing victims of gun violence by wearing all white (veils and robes provided to be worn over winter clothes) and holding a placard with an image and details of the victims.
We call these people Human Beings because they stay near us, silently, like the people we’ve lost. Marching as a Human Being provides a unique way of participating in a quieter & protected way while memorializing a particular victim of gun violence.
We are bringing this iconic performance to the Women’s March by representing women victims of gun violence. It may be possible - time allowing - to memorialize a specific person if you send us her name, age, and photo. If you have a suggestion for a woman to memorialize, please add the information HERE.
GAG Nog Singers: The GaG Nog Singers, led by Mark Leydorf, will be singing Russian themed songs with new lyrics along with our classic "Donny the Con Man" (sung to the tune of Frosty the Snow Man). Do you love to sing? Sign-up!
GAG Marchers: If you don’t want to be a Human Being or sing with the GAG Nog singers, you can always join us as marchers - with signs, chants, and GAG swag.
No matter what role you choose to play, we ask that all participants who ride the GAG buses stay with our contingent throughout the day. For coordinating purposes, it is crucial that you stay with the group so that we can arrive and leave as one group.
If you are planning to meet up with us in DC without joining us on the bus, please watch our Facebook page for updates about our meetup location.
We are planning a pre-March planning call on January 18th at 7pm EST. You will receive details about that call after you register and you can ask any and all questions about the March then.
GAG is all-inclusive and we welcome all who want to support our work.
